Becoming that morning person!

Here at Millbrook Contract Beds we understand that the only drawback to sleeping in one of our beds is that they are so difficult to leave behind in the morning.

If you’ve ever been a night owl you may have often found yourself pressing the snooze button once too often in the morning, and inevitably being one step behind for the rest of the day. The very thought of getting out from that cosy slumber before the dreaded sound of the alarm is inconceivable and seemed to go against the very logic of all that was right.

So what’s the secret to becoming one of those fabled morning people?

Changing your sleeping routine is key and after a hard few weeks (and some guilty relapses) you might find that your sleep patterns start to shift. Find yourself reasons to fall asleep at night rather than finding reasons to stay awake. You might find yourself waking up before your alarm goes off and through this you could easily discover a mystical time of the day known as Breakfast!

You’ll find the benefits of becoming a morning person are incredibly varied. For instance, the earlier you rise the easier it is to beat the morning rush reducing the stress levels of the working day overall while catching the sunrise in the summer is the only real way to start the day on the right foot.

Here are the Millbrook Contract Beds Tips to become a morning person:

Put the alarm clock away from the bed! If your alarm clock is within arms reach you are more likely to hit that snooze button or worse still switch it off and roll over. Once you are out of bed you are more likely to stay out, now just dont talk yourself back in!

Don’t allow yourself to talk you out of getting up early. Try to get out of the bedroom fast, get downstairs and make a coffee or into the bathroom and get some water on your face.

Your brain will try to trick you anyway it can in order to get you back into bed. You have to show it who’s boss.

Try not to set your sights too high. Set your self a goal to be out of bed 15-30 mins earlier than usual and the same a week later. Setting your alarm far too early will give you a mountain to climb that you may not manage.

Now if you’re a night owl and that works for you, then great! However, if you find that once you become a morning person and that improves your overall days and lifestyle in general then you’ll probably never want to go back. You might even feel that you get a better nights sleep and that your days seem more organised and fulfilled.
